TROY — A Troy couple faces felony charges of promoting prostitution for allegedly running a prostitution business advertised on craigslist from their Cedar Street home.
Michael T. LaFoe, 33, and Rosezetta LaFoe, 29, were arraigned Monday, Aug. 3, in Miami County Municipal Court on one felony charge each of promoting prostitution. Rosezetta Lafoe also is charged with misdemeanor prostitution.
His bail was set at $10,000. Her bail was set at $11,500.
Troy Police Capt. Joe Long said police received information last week that prostitution might be taking place at the LaFoe’s house. Information on Rosezetta LaFoe was found online, including on the classified advertising web site craigslist, he said.
Officers began Internet conversations with her, later making “arrangements” for a meeting Friday, when they arrested the couple.
Long said Michael LaFoe is accused of promoting and helping run the business.
The LaFoes’ preliminary hearings are scheduled for Aug. 11 in the municipal court.
