Man allegedly nibbles on girl’s arm, charged with child enticement

SPRINGFIELD — A man accused of child enticement pleaded not guilty in Clark County Municipal Court on Tuesday, Oct. 6, according to court records.

Gordon L. Haas, 68, of 844 Rodgers Drive, was arrested on the charge after allegedly attempting to pull children into his car, according to a police report.

Haas was sitting in his car in the 700 block of Stanton Avenue Monday, Oct. 5, when he allegedly started talking to some children nearby, according to the report.

An 11-year-old girl was standing next to Haas’ vehicle when Haas allgedly grabbed her arm and nibbled on it, according to a police report.

Haas then allegedly grabbed the arm of another child, reportedly pulling him in the car until one of his legs was in the air.

Child enticement is a first degree misdemeanor. No bond was set Tuesday.

If convicted of the charge, Haas could face up to 6 months in jail.
