A 20-year-old Centerville man was charged Thursday with underage drinking after police found him in possession of a baggie of gummy-bear candies soaked in alcohol, Miami Twp. police said.

The man was questioned by police who noticed him standing with a friend outside a car on Kingsridge Drive at about 1:30 a.m., Major John DiPietro said.

The officer found the man holding a plastic bag containing the candies. Police tested the candies, then charged the man with underage drinking.

Police issued a bulletin to area schools and police departments in Centerville, Kettering, Miamisburg, Moraine, Oakwood, Washington Twp. and West Carrollton advising that similar cases have surfaced across the country.
