DAYTON — A man was stabbed in the chest in an apparent domestic incident in an apartment in the 300 block of South Smithville Road early Wednesday morning, Aug. 26, according to a Dayton police dispatch supervisor.

A resident of the Terrace View Apartments called police at 1:30 a.m. to report that he had been stabbed by the woman who shared his apartment, the supervisor said. When police and paramedics arrived, they found the man had a knife wound to the chest that did not appear to be life threatening.

The man was transported to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment, the supervisor said. The woman police found in the apartment was transported to the Montgomery County jail.

According to televised reports, the woman claimed the man’s wounds were self-inflicted and that she did not assault him. Police on the scene said the woman was arrested on the basis on the 911 call from the man who said she had stabbed him.

The police supervisor did not release the name of either of the parties involved Wednesday morning.
