TROY — A Monroe Twp. man is being held in the Miami County Jail on one felony charge of rape and eight felonies of gross sexual imposition for alleged sexual conduct with a girl under age 13.

Bail of $105,000 was ordered Tuesday, June 16, in county Municipal Court for Shawn Rickert, 38, who lives near Tipp City.

The bail for rape was set at $25,000 cash, while bail on the remaining charges was $10,000 or 10 percent cash.

Rickert is accused of sexual conduct and sexual contact with the child beginning in 2005, according to investigative reports from sheriff’s detectives.

The girl disclosed the alleged abuse while discussing inappropriate touching with an adult, investigators said.

Rickert’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 25 in municipal court.
