MONROE — A Cincinnati man police say was trying to support a crack habit was arrested at Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe Sat., Aug. 8 for allegedly stealing sunglasses and men’s clothing from Saks Off Fifth Avenue.

The items were valued at $1,475.

Lloyd Walker, 59, was taken to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and booked under two counts of felony theft. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Lebanon Municipal Court later today, Aug. 10, according to the Lebanon Clerk of Courts office.

Monroe police said they received a call at 6:35 p.m. about a shoplifting in progress at Saks ,located at 301 Premium Outlet Drive and that Walker allegedly had been in the store the day before stealing items but could not be caught.

Upon arriving at the scene, store security officers told a Monroe police officer Walker had been in the store Aug. 7 and 8 and could be seen both days on video taking items from store shelves, putting them in a plastic bag and leaving without paying.

Store security said at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 7, Walker allegedly entered Saks and took five pairs of Christian Dior, Gucci and Jimmy Choo sunglasses off wall racks and concealed them inside a plastic bag he brought inside the store. He then went to the right corner of the store, kneeled down, stuffed them in the bag and walked out, police said.

Walker allegedly returned at 6 p.m. Aug. 8 wearing the same clothes and came into the store with a white plastic bag. He took one raincoat, a leather coat and a casual coat off the racks, concealed them in the bag and walked out again, officials said.

Mall security located Walker at 6:30 p.m. for Saks Loss Prevention and he was no longer in possession of the bag he had put the items in, police said.

Walker told mall security and Saks Loss Prevention he threw the bag down outside of the store when he knew he was being followed, and that one of the women he was with picked up the bag for him and left the mall.

He also said a group of four had been at the mall stealing all day so they could support their crack habit, according to police reports.
