BEAVERCREEK — Police have identified the jogger killed this morning, Aug. 24, as Michelle Hale, 44, of Beavercreek.
According to Beavercreek Police, Hale was jogging northbound across Dayton-Xenia Road from the bike trail to Stedman Lane at about 6:25 a.m. when she was hit by a westbound vehicle. There is no traffic light at the intersection of Dayton-Xenia and Stedman.
Hale was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
As police investigated Monday morning, a Ford SUV with a smashed windshield, hood, grille and bumper was still at the scene.
Beavercreek police have spoken to the man whose vehicle hit Hale, and they are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact police at (937) 426-1225.
No charges have been filed, and the crash remains under investigation.
