Police make one arrest at sobriety checkpoint

TROTWOOD — A sobriety checkpoint on Friday, June 19, resulted in one arrest for operating a vehicle under the influence, according to the Montgomery County Combined Agency O.V.I. Task Force.

The checkpoint on U.S. 35 in Jefferson Twp. and Trotwood also resulted in five seat belt citations, one child restraint violation and two other traffic violations.

The checkpoint was conducted from 8 p.m. Friday to 12 a.m. Saturday, June 20, by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Trotwood Police Department and the Montgomery County Combined Agency O.V.I. Task Force.

Additional deputies and troopers were assigned to saturation patrols around the checkpoint site during the checkpoint hours.
