TURTLECREEK TWP. — A female visiting the Warren Correctional Institution is facing felony charges after troopers arrested her Saturday, Aug. 28, for attempting to sneak drugs into the Warren Correctional Institution.
Kiara Taylor, 19, of Cincinnati, is charged with attempting to convey drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third-degree felony, and possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol, which investigates criminal activity on state-owned and leased property.
Troopers and Department of Rehabilitation and Correction investigators obtained information that Taylor would be attempting to convey drugs to her friend, an inmate at the Warren Correctional Institution, during a scheduled visit.
When Taylor arrived for her visit, troopers confronted her about her involvement in the conveyance of drugs. Taylor voluntarily surrendered a candy bar wrapper containing approximately 16 grams of marijuana.
Taylor was incarcerated in the Warren County Jail. If convicted, she could face up to seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
