BEAVERCREEK (Aug. 7): A thief who must be a golf fan — or someone upset with his or her last round at Beavercreek Golf Course — stole $380 worth of on-course equipment.

A Beavercreek police report listed five tee markers, two flag sticks, two flags and three 150-yard markers stolen from the course on New Germany Trebein Road.

ENGLEWOOD (July 12): Loud music coming from the next apartment caused a woman to call police. She said the neighbor was always playing his music too loudly and she tolerates it, except when she tries to sleep at night.

She told the police officers to step into her bedroom to see if they could hear the music, and they heard some voices and bass, but told the complainant that living in apartments can often lead to hearing loud noises from other apartments.

Still, police said they would write a summons, but while investigating found the male person in the apartment had a warrant for his arrest for a probation violation.

He was handcuffed and taken to the patrol car while the investigation continued on the loud music complaint.

Police found the next apartment door open, but the occupant was asleep. He was awakened and told of the complaint.

He was issued a summons while his neighbor was transported to jail.
