DAYTON — Police are searching for a Superior Avenue man known as “Ju Ju” who they believe was one of several gunmen involved in a shooting early Saturday morning on Rugby Road.

Two men and one juvenile were hospitalized after gun fire was reported at 2044 Rugby Road early Saturday morning, March 6, according to Dayton police reports. Hospitalized were a 17-year-old boy; Frederick Woodfork, 22, of Trotwood, and Andrew Leonard, 18, of Dayton.

Officers arrived at the residence at 2:35 a.m. and found the door open and the occupants gone. Inside, officers were attacked by a pit bull, which the officers shot, said Dayton Police Lt. Bryan Johns. While police were at the home, officers received a call that three gunshot victims had been dropped off at Good Samaritan Hospital emergency room. Two were injured seriously enough to be transported to Miami Valley Hospital, Johns said.

The altercation is believed to have started with a disagreement at the All-In-One Food and Fuel on James H. McGee Boulevard, Johns said. The men moved to in front of 2044 Rugby, where they began fistfighting and the shooting started. As many as three men are believed to have fired shots.

No arrests have been made.
