Victim of fatal Sunday shooting identified

DAYTON — A 22-year-old man was shot to death Sunday morning, June 21, at 1616 Bancroft Ave., Dayton police said.The man was shot four times in the abdomen and chest and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he died, said police Lt. Brian Johns. Police were dispatched to the scene at 9:51 a.m., Johns said.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s office on Monday identified the man as Bobby Johnson, 22, of Dayton.

The suspect in the shooting is described as 200-pound black male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, in his late teens or early 20s. He was wearing shorts and no shirt at the time and has very short hair or is bald.

“They are following up on some information on the suspect, but no arrests have been made yet,” Johns said.

A dispatch supervisor said on Monday morning that apparently no arrests had yet been made in the case.
