TROTWOOD — What started as a dramatic Montgomery County Regional SWAT team rescue attempt of a woman supposedly being held by a man at gunpoint in a Trotwood home at 4964 Marburn Ave shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, turned out to be a hoax, the possible result of a domestic dispute.
The SWAT team used a bull horn to call to the man and eventually got him out of the home, but found the woman wasn’t there.
The incident started around 3:11 a.m., according to a dispatcher with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office regional dispatch.
Trotwood police ended up arresting the woman for obstructing police at an emergency and misconduct at an emergency.
She turned up at the scene and admitted to making a 9-1-1 call to Trotwood police after her husband failed to answer the door and let her in, according to WHIO-TV reporter Mike Campbell.
The man told police he was asleep, Campbell said. He was not arrested.
