Dayton truck driver indicted in crash that killed Englewood driver

A Dayton man is sought by police after he was charged in connection to a 2016 fatal crash.

Jeffrey A. Evans, 53, was indicted in Montgomery County on two counts vehicular homicide and one count failure to stop after an accident.

The crash killed Perry Kreider, 67, of Englewood. It happened in July 2016 on northbound Interstate 75 near Moraine.

Evans was reportedly operating a commercial dump truck when he failed to stop for traffic which was slowing down for construction in the area. Evans allegedly struck the back of the victim’s 2012 Ford Fusion causing the crash. The defendant then attempted to flee the scene, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

Evans is being sought by police. He has an Aug. 1 arraignment date .
