DAYTON — Rescue workers took four people to hospitals Friday, May 15, following a truck-car collision at the intersection of Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and Washington Street.
None of the injuries from the 11:20 a.m. collision appeared life threatening.
Officers at the scene said a southbound Ford pickup truck on the boulevard attempted to turn left onto Washington into the path of the northbound Pontiac Grand Prix. The pickup ended up on the north sidewalk of Washington. The Pontiac went off the road, down an incline, through a parking lot missing a vacant one-story cinderblock commercial building by 6 inches.
The pickup driver and the front-seat passenger of the Pontiac suffered various injuries. Two small children — one four days old — in the Pontiac were also taken by ambulance for observation. Both were in child restraints and appeared uninjured. The driver of the Pontiac was uninjured.
Police are continuing their investigation.
