WASHINGTON TWP. — The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the owners of two abandoned horses who have been boarded at taxpayer’s expense for the past six weeks.
Two horses were found along the side of the road on April 12 near the intersection of Clarksville Road and U.S. 22/Ohio 3 in Washington Twp., according to the sheriff’s office. The horses were said to be in good health. At the time they were found, deputies believed the horses had broken out of a pasture or corral.
Six weeks later, no owners have come forward.
The horses are described as
• An unknown breed sorrel riding horse gelding approximately 1-2 years old
• A red and white mini-horse mare approximately 2-3 years old.
Both horses will lead with a halter but have not received any additional training.
Anyone with information as to the owner’s identity is asked to call Sgt. Brian Hounshell at (513) 695-1280.
