WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — A retired Army infantry officer who advocates for military personnel, military retirees and military widows will be the guest speaker at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s Retiree Appreciation Day on Nov. 13 at the Hope Hotel.
Ret. Maj. Gen. William Matz’s combat career spanned from the 1968 Tet Offensive in Vietnam to Operation Just Cause in Panama.
Matz, president of the National Association for the Uniformed Services, now travels to speak about what he sees as the need to protect the rights and benefits of service members and military retirees. He is also the administrator of the Society of Military Widows.
