Two accidents that happened within minutes of each other caused traffic delays and sent at least three people to area hospitals.

One crash happened at Riverside Drive near Forrest Park Drive about 1 p.m.

Two vehicles were involved in a head-on crash that resulted in critical injuries to one person. Two other people also were hurt and taken to hospitals for treatment.

About 15 minutes earlier, emergency personnel were sent to Interstate 70’s westbound lanes near Englewood after a report of a rollover accident just west of mile marker 24.

Dispatchers had no word on any injuries in that crash.
