Five organizations received Eclipse Integrity Awards and five high school students received Students of Integrity awards from the Better Business Bureau at an annual presentation Tuesday night, May 12.

The five organizational winners were chosen from among more than 250 Miami Valley businesses and nonprofits that were nominated for recognition as ethical, honest operations, officials of the Dayton-based Better Business Bureau organization said.

The five winning students, recognized for having demonstrated moral character and personal ethics, were selected from among more than 30 nominations from at least 80 high schools in the Dayton region, officials said.

The winning students each receive a $1,000 scholarship to their colleges of choice. They were: Aliza Bruchs, Brookville High School; Julie Creech, Centerville High School; Daniel Laughlin, Dominion Academy of Dayton; Andrew Schultze, Kettering Fairmont High School, and Abdul Wasey, Springfield High School.

Alternate Solutions Homecare, of Kettering, was chosen as the organizational winner in the category for businesses of 100 or more employees.

The others were: Villa Springfield Health & Rehabilitation Center, Springfield, in the category for 51-100 employees; Woodhull LLC, Springboro, an office equipment supplies and service dealer, 21-50 employee category; Chiropractic Health & Wellness Center of Dayton Inc., Oakwood, 1-20 employee category.

The Nonprofit Integrity Award went to St. Vincent de Paul, Dayton, which operates homeless shelters, thrift stores and food pantries and provides services including financial assistance and life-skills training.

“The Eclipse Integrity Awards are presented to businesses demonstrating significant, unique and continuous commitment to exceptional customer service, trust and fair play in the marketplace and day-to-day living,” the BBB said in a statement.

The awards were presented during the 16th annual Eclipse Integrity Awards dinner, at the Schuster Performing Arts Center.
