KETTERING — An organization dedicated to preserving the Dayton region’s aviation history will begin a year-long community tribute this month to aviation pioneer Wilbur Wright, to mark the 100th anniversary next year of his May 1912 death.

Tom Crouch, an aviation historian from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum who has written about Wilbur and Orville Wright, and Dawne Dewey, archivist at Wright State University, are to speak at Aviation Trail Inc.’s Dec. 17 dinner event. Aviation Trail, a volunteer organization, sponsors the dinner every Dec. 17 to celebrate the Wrights’ first flight on that date in 1903.

The public may attend the 7 p.m. dinner at the Presidential Banquet Center, 4548 Presidential Dr., Kettering. The cost is $45 per person. Checks should be sent by Dec. 15 to Aviation Trail Inc., P.O. Box 633, Wright Brothers Branch, Dayton, OH 45409.

For more information, call Marvin Christian of Aviation Trail at (937) 275-5271.
