MIAMISBURG — Miamisburg residents in the area of the water main break on North Gebhart Church Road last night are still under a 24-hour boil advisory this morning, Wednesday, March 24.

Gary Giles, public information officer for Miamisburg, said this morning that the boil advisory will be in effect until 2:30 a.m. Thursday, March 25. A water sample had to be at the lab for at least 24 hours from the time the sample was taken to the lab, which was early this morning. That means people in the affected area should continue to boil their water until the boil advisory is lifted. The water main repair was fixed at 11:45 p.m. according to Tim Young, superintendent in the street department. Water service was restored to the 2,500 households affected by midnight, he said.

Giles said the water main break probably occurred because of weather and age-related matters at the site.
