DAYTON — A director of Development for the University of Dayton has been hired as the new director of Development for the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery.
Ed Valles will be in charge of fundraising and development for the Dayton Society of Natural History, the parent organization of the museum, according to Kristy Creel, the museum’s manager of Marketing and Public Relations. The society is also the parent organization for the SunWatch Indian Village/Archaeological Park.
“I am excited to be a part of the future of this amazing community resource,” Valles said. “I am impressed by the organization’s strong leadership, and believe in its educational mission.”
Valles is currently the director of Development for UD’s Arts and Libraries. Valles was hired for this position in 2009. Prior to coming to UD, Valles spent six years with ThinkTV as a director of Community Support.
Valles said he will start his new position on Feb. 27. He is replacing the former director Bobbi Kay Enderle, who left in January to take another position, Creel said. Enderle had been with the museum for more than six years.
The museum is located at 2600 Deweese Parkway in Dayton. For more information on the museum, visit www.boonshoftmuseum.org.
