DAYTON — Dayton fire and police crews, along with DP&L and Time-Warner Cable crews were called out to a single car accident on Gettysburg Ave. at Wentworth Avenue at 5:12 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2009.
One person from the car was removed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Dayton Fire Lt. John Strukamp.
The car went into a pole, knocking down electrical and cable lines and causing Gettysburg to be blocked from Holyoke Avenue to Wentworth Avenue, by police crews, he said.
He said DP&L told them when they called to report the downed lines at 5:12 a.m. that it would take about a half an hour before they could come to the scene.
By 6:55 a.m. Dayton Police Sgt. W.T. Scott said he expected the road to be open in about 10 to 15 minutes or so, as Time-Warner Cable crews were just about finishing put up their wires. Gettysburg has been blocked from Holyoke Avenue to Wentworth Avenue, he said.
