The city of Troy has agreed to act as the Local Public Agency overseeing a traffic signal improvement project along West Main Street.
The project, to be paid for primarily by a grant through the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission, will focus on the area of Main Street between Dorset Road and Mary Bill Drive. The goal is to improve traffic flow along Main Street, a city council committee was told Dec. 12.
The city in 2012 will pay the estimated $85,000 cost to review options and design improvements. Work on improving the system of signals is expected to cost around $670,000. The work is scheduled for 2013.
