DAYTON — The city ranks as the 12th safest driving city among America’s nearly 200 largest cities in Allstate Insurance Company’s sixth annual “Allstate America’s Best Driver’s Report.”
The report ranks the cities by population to identify which cities have the safest drivers in terms of car collision frequency.
Dayton’s 2010 ranking is identical to the city’s 2009 ranking.
The report states that the average driver in Dayton will experience an auto collision every 11.7 years, which is 14.8 percent less likely than the national average of 10 years.
Fort Collins, Colo. received the title of “America’s Safest Driving City.” The city ranked number two last year.
The average driver in Fort Collins will experience an auto collision every 14.5 years, which is 31.2 percent less likely than the national average.
Washington, D.C. placed last with a ranking of 193. The city had the same ranking last year.
