The Warren County Sheriff’s Office said today, May 26, that it is investigating a deputy’s actions during an animal complaint call made Monday, May 25, after a citizen filed a formal complaint.
In a reported issued by the sheriff’s office, Deputy Mark Pelfrey responded at 9:45 a.m. Monday to Columbia Road in Deerfield Twp. after someone called in about an injured Canada goose. According to the report, Pelfrey discovered the bird appeared to be seriously injured and destroyed the animal.
No other information was provided about the incident and the sheriff’s office said there would be no further comment until the investigation is complete.
