The Cincinnati/Dayton Division office of Kroger stores announced Tuesday, June 30, that it is notifying customers who may have purchased recalled Beef Ground Store Made Ground Beef Trimmings supplied by JBS Swift Beef Co.

Swift Beef Co. on Monday expanded its recall of beef that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7.

Kroger is asking customers to check their freezers at home for packages with sell-by dates from April 27 to June 1, 2009. Included in the recall is packaging with the following UPC numbers: 21165300000, 21165310000, 21165320000 and 21165330000.

Kroger is alerting customers with register receipt messages and telephone and e-mail recall alerts if they purchased a recalled item using their shopper’s card. Customers who have the recalled items should not consume them and may return them to a store for a full refund or replacement.

The Cincinnati/Dayton Division area is comprised of stores in Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Southeast Indiana and the Greater Miami Valley.

More information about the recall is available online at www.fsis.usda.gov. Customers who have questions or concerns may call 1-800-632-6900.
