TROY — A woman looking for a Q-Tip in her ex-boyfriend’s bathroom instead found “spy cam” recording equipment with photos of a young woman showering, Miami County sheriff’s detectives said.

The recording led to the arrest this week of John W. Miller, 43, of rural Casstown on charges of felony wiretapping and misdemeanor voyeurism.

Bond for Miller was set at $11,000 at arraignment Wednesday, May 27, in county Municipal Court. He pleaded not guilty.

Reports filed with the charges said the woman reported she saw a “suspicious” looking item in a bathroom drawer earlier this month, then found the wireless recording equipment.

When she looked at what had been recorded, she recognized the 19-year-old woman who she knew had visited the house, detectives said. The woman contacted the woman who was recorded before they called the sheriff’s office.

The report said a man alleged to be Miller can be seen on part of the recording turning off the recording equipment after the woman left the room. The recording took place more than once, the reports said.

Not following you.. Where did it say that he asked or had permission..Are we reading the same story and posts?? My 19 year old daughter would not be taking a shower in a 43 year old's house. And obviously it wasn't the first time the girl took a shower there.

I believe you're right "S". She used "looking for a Q-tip" as a ploy to snoop.
