WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — Ohio 444 reopened Wednesday after officials confirmed a FedEx delivery truck was not carrying explosives.

Wright-Patterson Public Affairs said the base’s scanner equipment detected explosives in a package and a military dog alerted officials to the possible threat.

The Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team responded to the gate and determined with X-ray that the package was safe and no explosives were present.

Wright-Patterson police handled the lane closure in the area.
