The producers of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition have scheduled a Friday, July 24, pep rally for volunteers and construction professionals participating in the rapid-fire construction of a new home for a needy family in the Dayton area.
The rally — open only to volunteers, subcontractors and trades workers — will be held at Far Hills Community Church, 5800 Clyo Road from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., a news release states.
Speakers will include Conrad Ricketts, the show’s executive producer, and Rob Arnold, president of Coventry Fine Homes, the Beavercreek builder working on the project.
During the rally, Ritter will share stories about previous families featured on the show and prepare the volunteers, the subcontractors and the trades workers for the building process, the news release states.
Producers of the ABC television show have not identified the family that will receive a new home, but as of late last week had five candidates in the running.
The winning family will be notified on July 30 and their old home demolished either on July 31 or Aug. 1.
