EATON — A funeral will be held Saturday, April 18, for Army Spc. James Kurtis Bullen, a 101st Airborne Division soldier who died Saturday while home on leave in Eaton.
His sister tried to awaken him at 4 p.m. to get him up to go to his mother’s Easter dinner. When she couldn’t, she started CPR, Eaton police said.
Police Sgt. Eric Beeghly said they are awaiting results from an autopsy conducted by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. A cause of death has not been determined. The results could take six to eight weeks.
Bullen, 24, who was married, recently returned from a one-year tour of duty in Afghanistan. He was an infantryman assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team out of Fort Campbell, Ky. He entered the Army in October, 2006.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Eaton Church of the Brethren, 813 Camden Road.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 E. Main St., in Eaton and one hour prior to services. He will be buried in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton.
