KETTERING — Fire crews are on the scene of a gas leak in a Kettering neighborhood.

Kettering Fire Chief Terry Jones said a one-inch residential gas main was sheared off accidentally at the work site for the new Chipotle on Far Hills Avenue on Monday, Oct. 26.

Neighbors in the Marchester and Breckenridge area noticed the smell of gas. They have been temporarily evacuated.

But Jones said the situation should be resolved any minute as Vectren is on the scene.

Jones said wind is helping the gas dissipate so it should pose no danger.

Firefighters are on site with hoses for protection of the Chipotle construction.
