Gas prices continue to drop

About a month after prices neared $4 a gallon, average area price under $3.20.

Retail gas prices are falling, according to online gasoline price watchdog DaytonGasPrices.com.

The average local retail gas price as of 7:30 a.m. Tuesday was nearly $3.20 a gallon and the national average retail price is $3.43 a gallon. Both local and national retail gas prices were nearly $4 a gallon, a month ago.

The lowest retail gas price in the Miami Valley region as of 7:30 a.m. was $3.01 a gallon and that price could be found in Springfield at the Marathon gas station at 3675 Troy Road and the Northridge Gas ‘N’ Go, 1321 Moorefield Road.

The highest retail gas price in the region at 7:30 a.m. was $3.29 a gallon and that price could be found at several locations in the cities of Union, Centerville, Huber Heights, Springfield, Spring Valley, Kettering and New Carlisle.
