Gasoline prices dropping in area

DAYTON — Being below average is not always bad, especially when it comes to gas prices at Christmas time.

Dayton area gasoline prices have been falling recently, leaving a little more Chrismas cheer in driver’s pockets.

According to the Web site www.daytongasprices.com, the current average regular gas price in Dayton on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, is $2.43. Ohio’s average price is $2.45.

The cheapest gas prices in the area were listed as

$2. 31 at the Sam’s Club at 6955 Miller Lane near Benchwood Road and $2.34 at a Marathon station at 1150 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road and Commerce Center in Fairborn. It was also $2.34 at a Marathon station at 4600 Old Troy Pike and Needmore Road in north Dayton.

The highest area price listed was $2.59 at the AmeriStop, 5983 Old Troy Pike and Fishburg Road in Huber Heights. The price for regular gas was listed at $2.55 at the Kroger at 780 Northwoods Blvd. and I-75 in Vandalia, and at $2.54 at the Shell station, 899 S. Main St. and Spring Valley Pike, Centerville.
