TROTWOOD — If you think there are spirits or unexplained things going on in your house, the people you need to call are in town this weekend for the first Paranormal Convention at Hara Arena.

The event, which continues today, includes speakers and vendors from as far south as Texas, said Brian Klein, co-founder of Southern Ohio Paranormal Research.

“It exceeded our expectations,” Klein said of the three-day event, which features speakers, breakout sessions and open forums on ghost-hunting, ufology, cryptozoology (study of unknown animal species), and Big Foot research.

Klein, a Dayton native who lives in Columbus, said he has always wanted to come back and do something not just for the area but for the paranormal world, as well.

The convention is an outlet for anyone who has — or think they have — witnessed paranormal activity.

“A good paranormal investigator doesn’t charge for their services because they can’t guarantee anything,” Klein said

Sean Feeney of Covington, Ky., has a hot line that customers can call when they experience an “unexplained event,” and he will come investigate. He chuckled at the “ghostbuster” moniker but didn’t seem to mind.

“We try to document whatever we find,” Feeney said. “We’ll camp out overnight, and if we get anything we share it.”

Feeney’s ghosthunting kit includes a video camera, electromagnetic field detectors and an audio recorder to pick up any electronic voice phenomenon.

The convention continues today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets for the event are $35.

Today’s schedule includes discussions with:

• Joedy Cook, who has been featured on History Channel’s “MonsterQuest.”

• Beth Brown, founder of the Virginia Society of Paranormal Education and Research.

• Earle Benezet, director of the Kentucky UFO Reporting Center.

• Brian Parsons, author of the “Handbook for the Amateur Paranormal Investigator or Ghost Hunter: How to Become a Successful Paranormal Group.”

Genealogy is my hobby, not GHOST HUNTING, however, I seem to have found a few along the way! My friend and I were at Hillgrove cemetery in Miamisburg, Oh, in August 2006, in the daylight, taking pictures, we saw misty shapes on stones. Later thet evening, @ my request, my friend took a photo of me, and I was surrounded by misty shapes, including a face! We saw nothing, but I did feel the presence!

Genealogy is my hobbyand has been for many years,
not, GHOST HUNTING! However, I seem to have encountered many along the way!
In August of 2006, my friend and I were checking out some gravestones @ Hillgrove in Miamisburg, Oh, our digital pics show misty shapes on stones, and also orb's. Later that evening a picture was taken , @ my request, and it shows that I am surrounded by misty shapes, including a face! You have to see the picture to believe!
