Local gas prices rise

DAYTON — Gas prices are on the rise in the Miami Valley region, according to online gas price watchdog Daytongasprices.com.

As of 7 a.m. Thursday, the average local retail gasoline price was nearly $3.35 a gallon. That’s up nearly 12 cents from a month ago. The average national retail gasoline price at 7 a.m. was $3.46 a gallon, close to the price a month ago of $3.50 a gallon.

The lowest local gasoline price at 7 a.m. was $3.08 a gallon, and that price could be found in several locations in Fairborn. The highest gasoline price at that time was $3.49 at the Sunoco gas station, 110 S. Main St. in Union.

The highest average retail gasoline price within a nine-month period has been $4.16 a gallon in May.
