DAYTON - Nine local people will share a $250,000 prize for matching five numbers in the Mega Millions multi-state lottrery game.

Ohio Lottery officials announced the prize Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The group consists of Dayton residents Scarlet A. Payne, Ellen B. Derrick, Patricia A. Treadwell, George O. Odendo and Donna D. Johnson-Sims; James A. Constable of Eaton; Vicki D. Parham of New Lebanon; and Bobby L. Allen and Doris A. Milliner, both of Trotwood.

The group won the second-tier prize after matching five numbers in the Oct. 6 drawing.

After mandatory federal and state taxes of 31 percent, the group will divide $172,500.

The winning Mega Millions’ numbers were 9-33-51-53-56. The Mega Ball number was 39.

The group bought the ticket from Speedway, 4051 Salem Ave., and Speedway gets a $1,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

They won less than $20,000 each. If anyone asks them for any of it they should just tell the moochers to GFT

As far as having your name published when you win a large amount of money from a state lottery...there is an option called a 'blind trust' that you can set up. An attorney that represents the trust claims the money on their behalf and those that make up the blind trust remain anonymous. Those folks didnt research their options or chose not to before running to claim their prize.

They all work at Green Tokai in Brookville, Oh. It will help them out since most people have had there hours reduced due to the downturn of the automotive markets. Luckily at Green Tokai the products supplied are to Honda and Toyota instead of the so called big 3 which have had their share of troubles.

While its great to have a little extra cash in the current economy $19,166 is not going to set them for life. However, I am sure it will catch them up on their bills.
