DAYTON — A man was taken to the hospital after being hit by a train late Wednesday near Third Street and Webster Street, according to Dayton police dispatch.
CSX called police about the accident about 11:56 p.m., according to a dispatch Sergeant. The caller said that they believed a person had been hit by one of their trains.
No other details were immediately available.
WHIO-TV reported that police said several homeless people were walking down the tracks and when a train came. Apparently, Rick Pearson, 52, did not get out of the way in time and was hit in the shoulder.
His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
