PIQUA — A man died in a two-vehicle accident around 4 p.m. Christmas Day when the car he was driving attempted to turn left into a driveway and was struck by a pick-up truck traveling in the same direction that apparently tried to pass his vehicle as it was turning.
Authorities identified the man as David O’Bryant, 41, of Adams County.
Miami County Sheriff’s Deputy Tina Waymire said the accident occurred at 2737 E. Ohio 36 between Piqua and Fletcher. A woman and a six-year-old riding in the car were injured and removed to local hospitals. Cynthia Rollins, 43, of Peebles, a car passenger, was reported to be in stable condition at Miami Valley Hospital. The child, Beau Burgess, was also hospitalized, and his condition was not immediately available.
The driver of the Chevy pick-up, Dustin Kiser, 20, of Piqua, was not injured and refused treatment at the scene. The accident remains under investigation, said Lt. Michael Whaley of the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
