MIAMI COUNTY — A medical condition is believed to have caused a motorist to drive his car into two other cars on County Road 25A on Sunday, Aug. 16, according to Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

The three-car accident happened shortly before 3 p.m., Deputy Ryan Carn said.

Two adults were taken to Upper Valley Medical Center to be treated.

A preliminary investigation of the accident revealed that a Troy man was driving his Pontiac Grand Prix south on County Road 25A when the vehicle went left of center and clipped the driver’s side mirror of a Buick that was traveling northbound, Carn said. The Pontiac continued to travel, striking another Buick that was also traveling in the northbound lane.

The female driver of the second Buick attempted to go right in an effort to dodge the Pontiac, but the Pontiac ended up striking this Buick in the driver’s side door, Carn said. The Pontiac eventually came to a stop after it hit a guardrail in the northbound lane.

“All witnesses said he never braked,” Carn said of Pontiac’s driver.

The female driver, who is from Piqua, and the male driver of the Pontiac were the ones taken to the hospital. Their injuries were unknown as of 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16.

The female had two juveniles in her car, but they were not injured.

The male driver of the other Buick, who is from Fletcher, was not injured, Carn said.
