The Miami County Sheriff’s Office will deploy additional deputies for the New Year’s holiday weekend.
The deputies will be targeting high crash roads and roads with high rates of driving while under the influence arrests, Sheriff Charles Cox said.
The added deputies are being paid for through a grant from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services. The grant pays for overtime for deputies and some fuel costs. This is the seventh year the sheriff’s office has received the grant.
