MIDDLETOWN — A jury acquitted a Middletown man, accused of raping a West Carrollton woman, of all charges last week.
Jerry D. Bledsoe, 41, and the woman had an on-again-off-again relationship, according to trial testimony. The trial, before Montgomery County Common Pleas Judge Gregory F. Singer, started Oct. 24 and ended Oct. 27, when the jury found him not guilty of rape and aggravated burglary.
Police said a 38-year-old West Carrollton woman said she sent Bledsoe home June 15 because he became belligerent after drinking alcohol while working on repairs to her mother’s home. The woman told police Bledsoe allegedly climbed back into the home through an unlocked window and choked her into unconsciousness before raping her while threatening her with a kitchen knife.
