Montgomery County’s first confirmed case of H1N1, or swine flu, contracted it through exposure to an infected 15-year-old Clark County girl during a trip sponsored by a Dayton church, local health officials said Tuesday, June 2.

The 16-year-old Vandalia-Butler High School sophomore, a boy, is recovering at home. The church trip to Kings Island was about one week ago, and involved 14 people. All 14 have been contacted and interviewed by health officials in their respective counties.

Montgomery and Clark county health officials are investigating the relationship of the two cases, and whether any other people on the church trip fell ill, said Diane Van Auker, spokeswoman for the Clark County Combined Health District.

She declined to disclose the name of the Dayton church at the church’s request.

The Swine flu may be a different stran than any other flu we normally see, but it is no different than the "flu". The "flu" kills thousands, yes Thousands EVERY single year. Do we hear about all of those deaths? NO!! Big deal that these two got the flu, and who really cares that they got it on a church trip. They may have contracted it before the trip or even after the trip. I'm just sick of hearing about the SWINE flu!!!!!

Wow,
While I am interested in the progression of the Novel H1N1 I must say I am more interested in the ignorance of those who left messages on this board.

Haven't you people caught on yet? Every day the media is telling us the latest thing that will kill us. Or who got shot, what house burned down, etc. It has nothing to do with the truth, but making money!

They don't know when they got it, lets just get all upset, bull. Don't worry about it, you will get over it, if you get it, no problem.
