Darrell Michael, 58, of New Madison was found with his motorcycle early morning Sunday, Aug. 30, at the intersection of Ritenour and Preble County-Butler Twp. Road in Darke County.
“He was apparently traveling eastbound on Ritenour when he went off the side of the road,” reported Sgt. Jeff Kramer of the Ohio Highway Patrol. “It is hard to tell at this point, due to lack of visible injury, whether the crash was due to a medical issue.”
Kramer said Michael was spotted by passers-by, who then called police.
Michael, who was not wearing a helmet, was then taken by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital. Kramer said his injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
Kramer added that police did not know how long Michael had been at the site.
“There was a lot of condensation left on the motorcycle, and the machine was cold,” Kramer said.
