An 83-year-old woman was killed about 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, when the pickup truck she was driving was struck broadside by a tractor trailer at Johnsville-Brookville Road and Old Dayton Road.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Rosa Ritchie of New Lebanon.
Perry Twp. police Sgt. Michael Rinehart said it isn’t clear how fast the tractor trailer was going when it hit the pickup.
The driver of the pickup either failed to yield to the semi or ran the stop sign, he said.
The Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, he noted.
The driver of the semi suffered no apparent injuries, but was removed from the scene by a medic and taken to a hospital.
Both vehicles had to be towed, Rinehart said.
