MIAMISBURG — Police arrested a man Thursday evening at a Harrison Twp. motel in connection with a robbery Thursday morning at a Shell gas station at 125 Byers Road in Miamisburg, according to jail records.

Miamisburg police took Fest Cotton, 19, into custody at 6:50 p.m. Thursday. He is being held in the Montgomery County jail on a charge of aggravated robbery, according to jail records.

A robber escaped on a bicycle after robbing the Shell at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. Police said a heavyset man wearing a hooded sweatshirt entered the gas station, showed a gun and demanded cash. The gas station clerk handed over his cash drawer, and the robber left with the contents and rode away on a bicycle.

According to the news station Website WDTN.com, Miamisburg police identified Cotton as a suspect based on tips from viewers who saw surveillance video of the robbery on a morning newscast.

The Website said police think Cotton pedaled his bike all the way from Miamisburg to Harrison Twp.
