More than a few Thanksgiving dinners in Huber Heights were no doubt delayed by a power outage Thursday morning that affected more than 1,500 people.
Dayton Power & Light officials said 1,570 customers in the Huber Heights area experienced an outage at 10:50 a.m. Power was restored to those customers by around 12:30 p.m., just in time for the kickoff of the NFL game between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.
“We had a squirrel get across a switch and cause a failure,” said Kevin Hall, a DP&L spokesman. Crews in the field worked to restore power as quickly as possible, he said.
“Hopefully, it didn’t create too much of an interruption with folks’ Thanksgiving dinners or celebrations,” Hall said.
