City residents are encouraged to discard their cut Christmas trees at the curb on their regular trash collection day beginning on Jan. 2.
Residents are asked to remove all decorations, including lights, tinsel and ornaments. Trees should not be placed in bags. Trees picked up the week of Jan. 2 will be recycled and reused as mulch.
Starting Jan. 9, the West Carrollton Service Department will conduct a quarterly bulk trash pickup through Friday, Jan. 13, on residents’ regular collection days.
In addition to any remaining trees, the city will collect household items such as appliances, carpet, brush, metal and lumber. Appliances should have the doors removed from the hinges. Carpet and brush should be cut in 3-4-foot lengths and bundled.
The city will not pick up contractor-generated materials or remodeling materials.
For information about the city’s waste collection, call (937) 859-8280.
