New RTA fares began Saturday, Aug. 1.
Adult cash fares will increase 25 cents to $1.75. All other fares aboard Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority vehicles will go up, including red and gray school passes and para-transit cash fares.
Beginning Aug. 16, RTA will reduce the daily number of bus runs and trips on certain routes and eliminate Route 32.
In response to public concern, night-time service and senior-targeted Routes 65 and 66 remain in service. Route 22 will extend to serve popular destinations such as the Job Center and Miller Lane.
The higher fares and service cuts were necessitated by a projected $3.1 million revenue loss in 2009.
