LEBANON — Thirty people have so far submitted applications for the vacant director’s position at the Warren County Emergency Services Department.

According to county Administrator Dave Gully, applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled.

Among those applying for the position include Franklin councilman Jason Faulkner; former Clearcreek Twp. fire chief Bernie Becker of Springboro; and former Middletown police chief Michael Bruck of Miamisburg. Seven of the applicants are from out of state while most of the other candidates are from southwest Ohio.

Other current applicants include: Eric W. Adkins of Cincinnati; Robert E. Baker Jr. of Avon; Robin L. Bower of Morrow; Clarence A. (Tony) Bradburn Jr. of Mason; Jeffrey J. Busch of Dayton; Tom S. Cisco of Land O Lakes, Fla.; James V. Codispoti of Kettering; James V. Chenault of Folcroft, Pa.; Daniel G. Evers, the former Deerfield Twp. administrator; Joseph W. Falco of Morrow; Michael E. Gebhart of Centerville; David Scott Gilmore of Grapevine, Texas; Eric Kendal Griffin of Sanford, N.C.; David M. Hanig of Ligonier, Pa.; Stephen V. Hargraves of New Carlisle; Art A. Heeger of Lebanon; Bradley A. Kyser of Delaware, Ohio; Nathan McCollum of Sebastian, Fla.; John E. Milstead Jr. of Centerville; Sharon R. Powell of Beavercreek; Jeremy A. Shearer of Lebanon; Craig A. Smith of Anniston, Ala.; Nancy E. Terry of Lebanon; William P. Vieth Jr. of Loveland; Richard Paul Vollett of Wilmington; James M. Wahlrab of Franklin; and Matthew K. Woehrmyer of Lebanon.

The director’s position became open following the resignation of Frank Young last month following an investigation into improper conduct among late-night emergency dispatchers.

Young’s resignation became effective on Oct. 20. He worked for the county since February 1989.

The investigation into the dispatcher’s actions began in April and includes one dispatcher, Ron Kronenberger, who was rumored to have been asleep prior to answering a 911 call from Ryan Widmer, who reported his wife’s drowning.

The county Emergency Services Department oversees the county’s communications center, the emergency management agency and the hazardous materials unit.

Preacher,
Please get yourself in a literacy program. Your mangled grammar and terrible spelling are atrocious. You didn't even spell your County name right.

Why not give a regular person a chance...you know one who needs a break...not a fire chief, councilman, or police officer...why not someone who actually cant find a job anywhere...hint hint:)

How many of these applicnts have experience in emergency management, aside from those who are listed as "former police/fire chief"? There is at least one name listed that I would HATE to seen as the new director, and one that I'm surprised not to see (and I hope he applied)!
